Zoher Ghogawala, MD
 

Dr. Ghogawala is a board-certified neurological surgeon who completed his undergraduate degree (magna cum laude) at Harvard University in 1987. He went on to graduate from Harvard Medical School with high honors in 1991. He completed his residency training in Neurological Surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital and is now dedicated to the treatment of spinal and vascular neurological disorders. He is currently Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery at Yale University School of Medicine.
 
Dr. Ghogawala is Director of the Wallace Trials Center at Greenwich Hospital and is the principal investigator on several national clinical trials including the SLIP ( www.spine-slip-study.org) and CSM ( www.csm-study.org) trials. He has been awarded multiple research grants including support from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Dr. Ghogawala has over 30 peer-reviewed original research papers appearing in peer-reviewed scientific journals or presented orally at national neurosurgical meetings. He has authored several chapters in neurosurgical textbooks. Dr. Ghogawala has been invited to give lectures and grand rounds at many institutions including the Massachusetts General Hospital, Cleveland Clinic, and Yale University.
 
Dr. Ghogawala serves on the spine executive committee of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons - Congress of Neurological Surgeons Joint Spine Section. He is responsible for clinical trials and patient outcomes projects. Dr. Ghogawala's clinical trials work on spinal fusion has been featured in the New York Times and he is consistently listed as one of the region's Best Doctors and is included in Who's Who in America.
 
Dr. Ghogawala is a dedicated physician who focuses his practice on spinal and vascular disorders and focuses his research of patient outcomes. He treats spinal and brain tumors, disc herniations, spinal cord compression and spinal deformities, and has expertise in carotid stenosis and its treatment.
