Andrea F. Douglas, M.D.
Dr. Douglas has special expertise in minimally invasive spine surgery and degenerative scoliosis. Dr. Douglas received her medical degree from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons and her cum laude Bachelors in Biochemistry from Harvard-Radcliffe College. After completion of her degree, Dr. Douglas continued her training in neurosurgery at New York University/Bellevue Hospital Medical Centers. As a resident at NYU, Dr. Douglas worked under the Chairman of Neurosurgery, the noted Dr. Patrick J. Kelly, and she completed minimally invasive and complex spine surgery specialty training. During that time she was honored with the prestigious Brainlab Resident Award in Munich, Germany. Upon completing her post graduate training, Dr. Douglas joined Georgetown University Hospital. As Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery, she was consistently recognized for her research, which has been published in Clinical Neuropathology, Journal of Neurosurgery, and Journal of Neurophysiology.
Dr. Douglas is a board eligible member of the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and has been admitted to practice in Connecticut, New York, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
